Sakhya Sagar Ramsar Site Of 2022 In Madhya Pradesh
Sakhya Sagar is a human-made reservoir on the edges of the Shivpuri metropolis inside the Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is operational from the Shivpuri Management and Conservation Plan applied through the Local Urban Municipality.
Sakhya Sagar covers an area of 248 hectares and became a Ramsar site on January 7, 2022.
The reservoir is characterized by a diverse variety of landforms, together with open water, marshes, plantations, and a small patch of agricultural land. The reservoir itself is shallow, alkaline, and nutrient-rich.
