Online Registration for Kedarnath Yatra 2024:

It is a compulsory document mandated by the Government for those wanting to visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand. 

There are four modes of registration for The Char Dham Yatra:

  1. Online Registration: This can be done by following simple instructions on the registration page of Uttarakhand Tourist Care website portal. 
  2. Offline Registration: Devotees may visit any offline registration centre along the Char Dham Yatra route. You must carry your official government issued identity, along with a filled Char Dham Yatra registration form. 
  3. Mobile Application: For the ease of online access you can download the Uttarakhand Tourist Care mobile application. 
  4. Registration via Whatsapp: Devotees can simply send a text “Yatra” to the Whatsapp Number of Uttarakhand Tourist Care. (+91 8394833833)

Route Options for Kedarnath Yatra: 

  1. Via Trekking:

If you want to experience surreal close proximity with nature and if your physical capabilities allow you, then trekking is the way to go. As you commence your trekking to the Kedarnath Dham, what follows is truly a soul- rejuvenating experience. Amongst the most popular trekking routes, is the one that begins from Gaurikund. Its distance is approximately 16 kms. As you move along the way, you are greeted with picturesque views and mountains in all their glory. Through this journey to the Kedarnath Dham, the key stops include Rambara, Garurchatti, and Kedarnath Base Camp. This journey is a physically enduring one, but what follows is thorough spiritual enchantment.

  1. Via Helicopter Services:

In situations, where there are physical and time constraints which do not allow for trekking to the Kedarnath Dham, one can opt for Helicopter Services. Helicopter services are available from Phata, Sersi, and Guptkashi, which will swoon you with the surreal view of the Himalayas. 

  1. Via Road: 

Travelling via road is a convenient and budget friendly option as compared to the helicopter services. The nearest motorable point to Kedarnath is Sonprayag, accessible via well-maintained roads from major cities like Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun. From Sonprayag, one can opt for a trek to reach Kedarnath Temple.

Accommodation Options:

  • Accommodation: Dharamshalas and guesthouses offer budget-friendly options starting from ₹200 to ₹500 per night. Tented accommodations range from ₹500 to ₹1,000 per night. Hotels and resorts provide luxury stays starting from ₹2,000 onwards.
  • Miscellaneous: Additional expenses may include meals, and if you wish to explore areas beyond the Kedarnath Dham
